The battery in our Volkswagen is located in the closed engine compartment or under the rear seat, where the battery poles must be well protected, as a short circuit could occur.
If this is not the case, a short circuit can occur: moving your wrench in a moment of unconsciousness can have fatal consequences, and what would you think if the battery is mounted under the rear seat and you spontaneously dive on it, causing a short circuit of the seat springs on the battery terminals?
This must be avoided, which is why Volkswagen has fitted the battery with a cover at the factory. With older models, a strap was pulled around the battery to keep the cover and battery firmly in place. In the younger types, the battery has its own holder and the cover is detached on the battery.
Also, check to see if you have the parts needed to mount the battery and order them in addition (if available, they are listed in the options tab).
