When purchasing a new camshaft, it is necessary to order a cam gear (pinion) with most camshafts. The original is riveted in the factory to the camshaft, which is often not the case for camshafts available on the after-market. The advantage is that you do not have to use an original configuration, but you can also mount a gear with straight teeth.
The camshaft gear mentioned here is made of aluminium, or the so-called standard pinion. If a right cam gear is available, it is listed under the Alternatives tab.
In order to offer a cheaper solution, the most common cam gear is also available in B quality. It is necessary to file the teeth here and there to ensure proper functioning of the assembly. A good alternative for those who have no problem spending a little more time there.
All gears are supplied without mounting hardware, please add this (see Options tab).
