For most fans of air-cooled Volkswagens, the appearance of the engine is just as important as the bodywork (for some, it's even more important). We like to open the engine lid to show off the beauty of the engine, but then there has to be something to show for it.
You can outfit the engine with lots of chrome or stay sleek with mostly black powdercoated engine sheet metal, but either way, a touch of extra color won't hurt.
This transparent faceplate has slightly protruding fins and mounts in front of the existing dynamo backplate. Thanks to the transparency, the back plate shows through, giving a brightly colored effect over a chrome back plate. When mounted on a black backing plate, the color will be less pronounced.
If you like protruding fins, take a look at the related parts tab. For the dynamo pulley, there is a matching faceplate to complement it.
