If the valve cover gasket is defective and starts to leak, the pressure in the crankcase may be higher than normal, which is best avoided with performance motors.
To permanently stop this oil leak, these bolt valve covers have been developed. These covers are fastened to the rocker shaft with bolts instead of using conventional clamping brackets.
The choice of material (aluminium) and additional cooling fins ensure better heat dissipation than the original cover. Despite these advantages, most of us will install this cover for the looks, it's an asset for your engine.
Note : Due to potential overtightening, which could tear the valve cover, the mounting bolts are delivered from the factory too long. It is therefore possible that after a complete tightening, the cover does not yet press sufficiently on the cylinder head. In this case, remove the fixing bolts and shorten them by a few millimeters.
