If your engine is equipped with Weber, EMPI or Dellorto carburetors, a wide choice of air filters is available. Most air filters have a chrome or aluminium cover. But if you want maximum quality and appearance, then for the Weber IDF, EMPI HPMX and D series or the Dellorto DRLA air filters, there is the "Classic Style" air filter mentioned here, which is made entirely of 304 stainless steel.
When developing these high quality air filter housings, the installation of velocity stacks to improve the airflow was taken into account (listed in the Options tab). In addition, you have the choice of an air filter already equipped with a venting hole, and if you do not need it, without this option.
The stainless steel "Classic Style" air filter is supplied including stainless steel air filter element. You will need to order the gasket and any velocity stacks and/or crankcase vent connection additionally, see 'Options' tab.
The assembled stainless steel air filter element never needs to be replaced, in addition to perfect filtration it is also fire resistant. It seems impossible, but this filter element meets all these requirements. If you want to use this filter for another air filter, it is also available separately and is listed on the tab "replacement parts".
With an open engine compartment, such as Baja Buggies and VW Beetles used in autocross, it is advisable to use a pre-filter. A pre-filter is slid over the austerity and stops the worst dirt, this to preserve the life of your filter element. The optional pre-filter is also shown in the Options tab.
If you don't know exactly which carburettor is mounted on your engine, look at the pictures, they also show the underside of the air filter that corresponds to the top of the carburettor for which it is intended.
